- American Friends of Kerem B'Yavneh
- The illustrious history of Yeshivat Kerem B'Yavneh began in the 1930s, before the establishment of the State of Israel. It was then that the idea was conceived to rebuild the ancient Talmudic academy, founded by Rav Yochanan Ben Zakai two millennia ago. Chief Rabbi Rav Avraham Yitzchak Hacohen Kook supported the plan, and preferred to implement it in Jerusalem. The opinion of Rav Meir Berlin prevailed, however, and the approximate site of the ancient Kerem B'Yavneh, its exact location unclear, was selected. In 1941, an agreement was reached between the Jewish National Fund and the Mizrachi/Hapoel Mizrachi movements, allocating five hundred dunams in the area for the Yeshiva.

Today Mercaz HaRav Yeshiva is the focal point of a young generation aspiring to walk in the Way of G-d and His Torah, and drawn to the vision of HaRav Kook. Since its foundation, the Yeshiva and all that it stands for, has grown in influence until the name Mercaz HaRav has come to denote not only a Yeshiva, but a Torah concept which is the heart of a movement. This movement encompasses thousands of pupils and students in high school Yeshivas and Yeshivot Hesder, pupils and students in the Ulpanot and Michlalot (girl’s Torah high schools and colleges), and members from all walks of the Hityashvut (Settlement) movement.

- Conservative Yeshiva in Jerusalem
- The Conservative Yeshiva provides a community in which
committed students and teachers can grow together in the
service of God through common prayer, aid to the needy,
and, most importantly, study of Torah. Throughout Jewish history the study of traditional Jewish texts -- the Torah, the Mishnah, the Talmud, and the vast body of literature that has developed from them -- has provided the basis of unity in Jewish communities. The Yeshiva community includes not only committed Conservative Jews but people who identify strongly with the Modern Orthodox, Reform, and Reconstructionist communities. We have in common the desire to learn in an open, tolerant, and religiously observant atmosphere.
